This coming saturday, January 16, 2010, the St Francis College Business Department will hold mock interviews for its graduating class. Being on the other side of the table, I feel happy for these students and their families who put them through college, I feel happy that they will soon be reaching another milestone in their life. I have made a letter for these students, as well as for other graduating students from the numerous schools throughout the Philippines.

Dear Job Applicant,
Today is the day of your interview. You are pretending that you are a job applicant, fresh out of college and kicking to get into your first job. Soon this will become reality.
I wish you all the luck in the world. Many times in the past I was also once a job applicant. I just got lucky because I was prepared.
1. PREPARATION
So this is all about preparation. Your studies here at St Francis College have prepared you. This interview will prepare you. And as a special treat because you will soon be an alumni of St Francis College from which I also graduated many years ago, I have prepared for you the following tips which I culled from the internet. Please make use of this.
2. PROJECTION
Success attracts the best persons for the job. We are attracted to success that is why we seek it. But the Law of Attraction also states that we attract what we project, what image, feelings and vibrations we project! In the performing arts, this is called “to emote.” So, project success. Be in your best and most appropriate attire. But above all, try to radiate confidence as you are interviewed. Be confident, and at the same time, respectful.
3. PERSISTENCE
Good luck to you on your first job interview. But should you not land the job, brace yourself. It is not the end of the world. Pick up lessons from the interaction and go to a second interview, with another employer perhaps, go to as many interviews as you need to go to, go until you are finally accepted for a job. But never surrender, never ever surrender until you reach your achieved goal which is to land a job.
4. PRAYER
Many times we attribute good things that come to us as good luck. Yet, what great obstacle cannot be overcome when we fold our hands and say a prayer to ask our Great Father God to grant to us our heart’s desire. Believe me, I have been in so many desperate situations, yet prayer has solved it all. Why not try prayer?
My dear job applicant, today I invite you to join me in a journey to success. Here at http://lifejourneytosuccess.blogspot.com/ I will share with you pointers in a job interview and many other pointers for success in life.
I will be waiting for you.
Sincerely yours,
ANA CARLA JESSICA T. VILLARMENTE

P.S. The Internet is a powerful tool in today’s hi-tech world. Learn to use it for your goals, do not allow the internet be your master, but you are to become the master of the internet. Email me at jessicahtrinidad@gmail.com and together we will learn from each other on this great journey to success.
Remember, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. What first step will you take today?
